Torbay Gin at Ella's Sold-Out Fashion Show

Torbay Gin at Ella's Sold-Out Fashion Show

On Thursday 18th July, we were lucky enough to be invited by Rowcroft Hospice to Ella’s in Chelston to be a part of their very first Fashion Show.

Ella’s Deputy Manager Annie got in contact with us to put forward her ideas for an event that was a first of its’ kind for Ella’s. The evening included some lovely food, a host of Rowcroft volunteers standing in as the evening’s models, and a pop-up gin bar, manned by our director James.

The fashion show itself was a lot of fun and a huge success, showcasing the array of second-hand clothes available at Ella’s and Rowcroft. Annie had the job of commentating on the clothes being strutted around the floor, showing her passion for the importance of sustainability within the local community and the key role Rowcroft play in that.

Not only did the event raise awareness for the great work that Rowcroft are doing, it also raised a lot of money and highlighted the generosity of both the people and businesses of Torbay. The evening was full of fun, with the team at Austins Department Store generously coming along to give a Lancome makeup demonstration. The event also involved a raffle, which included £300 worth of Chanel perfume from Austins, a voucher from hairstyilist Louise Ward for her Babbacombe salon, a pamper evening from VOS Devon, a voucher for a local fish merchants and a Wine Box gin experience amongst other great prizes. Overall, the sold out event raised £1900, something Annie is rightly proud of.

It was a fantastic event to be a part of and we’re happy we could have a small part in raising awareness for the issues that Rowcroft are aiming to tackle. If you’re ever in the Chelston area, which is just a short journey from our Cockington distillery, make sure you pop in to Ella’s for a coffee and a look at the great work they are doing.
